Anime Ability Arena officially supports PC, mobile, tablet, Xbox, and PlayStation. The safest way to learn controls is to identify the four action roles on your current HUD: basic attack, light ability, heavy ability, and Dash. Recent PC gameplay consistently shows M1, E, R, and Q, while controller captures show face-button and trigger prompts that may vary between hardware and Roblox settings.
Do not force a keyboard guide onto another device. Look at the live icon, activate one action on safe ground, and match its behavior to a role. This method remains useful when a moveset renames the attacks or an update changes a prompt.
Current control reference
The two documented controller examples display B, Y, RT, and LT alongside Diyo and Ultra Instinct actions, but a captured prompt is not enough to assert one permanent Xbox/PlayStation mapping. Button glyphs, ordering, accessibility settings, and UI updates can differ. Use the move name and observed behavior to identify the role.
PC setup and first test
Center the camera behind the avatar and move to solid ground. Click once to find basic range. Press E once and watch whether the light ability travels, tracks a player, or moves your avatar. Press R only when no shoreline is behind the target. Press Q last so you can measure Dash without accidentally leaving the island.
Keep the cursor and camera aimed toward the target during the test. If an ability fires sideways, repeat with the camera centered. If it chooses a different player, the move may target the nearest opponent rather than the cursor; Mako’s community-reported Phase Slam behaves this way.
Avoid key spamming while learning. One input followed by full recovery makes cooldown and direction visible. Four simultaneous inputs make a missed move impossible to diagnose.
Mobile and tablet setup
Use landscape orientation if the current device and Roblox layout allow it. Make sure the right-side action buttons do not overlap the jump control, device gesture area, or chat. The game exposes move names through the HUD, so read those labels after equipping a character instead of searching for a fixed letter.
Drag the camera to show the opponent and the nearest edge before tapping a heavy action. Touch players often lose information when the thumb covers the same side of the screen as the target. Reposition the camera between exchanges rather than during a long animation.
Test one button at a time. Note which one moves the avatar and preserve it when fighting near water. If performance stutters, reduce Roblox graphics quality and join a different server before changing the whole control plan. A delayed effect can be latency, not an incorrect input.
Xbox and PlayStation setup
Read the current face-button and trigger glyphs on the action bar. Match each to the move name and role. Do not treat the B/Y/RT/LT combination captured in two community guides as guaranteed for both console families or every controller layout.
Use the right stick to keep the camera level before a directional action. Practice Dash on central ground to learn whether it follows the avatar’s facing or current stick direction. Then test basic, light, and heavy separately with the movement stick released.
If the glyphs do not match your physical controller, check Roblox controller recognition, reconnect the device, and reopen the experience. If only one move fails, respawn after confirming the selected character; the old HUD can persist when an equip did not complete.
How controls change with each ability
The role layout stays compact, but the function behind a role is not universal. Diyo’s community-documented E is a close Stand Barrage and R is Road Roller. Mako’s E pursues the nearest target and R is a spinning displacement action. Ultra Instinct uses Divine Punch and Divine Beam in the documented light/heavy slots.
That means “press E then R” is not a guaranteed combo. Range, startup, recovery, tracking, and knockback decide whether the second action can connect. Test the Diyo, Mako, and Ultra Instinct movesets individually.
When switching characters, read all four HUD names again. If nothing changes, return to the selection panel, equip the desired character, and respawn if prompted.
A five-minute control drill
Spend the first minute walking a circle while keeping the camera on the island center. Spend the second minute measuring Dash in four directions from safe ground. During minute three, find the maximum reliable basic-attack distance. During minute four, test the light action against a moving player without immediately using heavy.
Use the final minute for one controlled sequence. Land the safest opener, visually confirm contact, then decide whether the heavy action is safe. Finish by moving away from water. Repeat until you can name what each input does and what remains unavailable during cooldown.
This drill is more transferable than memorizing one flashy combo. It builds camera control, range judgment, and cooldown awareness for all 18 officially advertised characters.
Troubleshoot missing or unresponsive inputs
If no action occurs, check whether the move is on cooldown, chat has keyboard focus, or a Roblox menu is open. Click or tap back into gameplay and try the basic action on clear ground. On controller, reconnect and confirm Roblox recognizes the device.
If the move name is wrong, verify the equipped character and respawn. If the animation plays but the target does not react, test on another server; high latency can make local contact misleading. If the touch HUD is crowded, adjust Roblox interface or device accessibility settings rather than using an external macro.
Never install a script or auto-combat tool to fix controls. The official game rules prohibit exploiting and cheating. External automation also prevents you from learning the timing that each moveset requires.
Controls FAQ
What are the PC controls?
Current gameplay guides report M1 for basic attack, E for light ability, R for heavy ability, and Q for Dash. Recheck the live HUD after updates.
What are the Xbox and PlayStation controls?
The game officially supports both, but a complete current first-party button map is not published. Community captures show B, Y, RT, and LT for four roles. Match the glyphs on your own HUD rather than assuming an ordering.
Can I play on mobile or tablet?
Yes, both are listed as supported. Use the on-screen move names, keep the camera clear of your tapping thumb, and identify the movement action before approaching an edge.
Why did my attack target another player?
Some moves may use nearest-target selection instead of precise cursor aim. Test away from crowds and check the character-specific guide before treating it as a control failure.
